December 22

This day saw more travelling through flat prairies - very little snow, but colder. We covered the rest of Manitoba and most of Saskatchewan - we are actually in Swift Current.
Looking forward to arriving in Calgary tomorrow so we can actually spend more than one night in the same place!

December 21 ( partial 19 and 20 as well)

I don't know where my post for Dec. 19 and 20 went! Did I save them?
We spent Dec. 19 (night) in Cochrane and Dec. 20 in Nipigon.

We are in Winnipeg tonight - and it is typically (I guess) cold.
Our day seemed long - mostly due to the one hour time change at the border.
We saw somw wildlife today - 2 deer and one lynx. Funny not to have seen more after travelling through such wild country the last 3 days.
We saw some sun at the end of the afternoon - nice!

December 18

We left Portneuf this morning after a continental breakfast at the hotel. Had a "Tim's" in Repentigny where we also fuelled. All went well until we reached about 70 kms. east of Ottawa. A passerby made several gestures to us to pull over - we had a flat tire on the trailer! Thank goodness we had purchased extra trailer insurance which included roadside assistance. Within half an hour the help arived - the spare was put on and we followed him to "Herb's" truck stop and waited there till he went to find another new tire. So we are fine for now, but will need to buy 3 more new tires when we get to Calgary. Probably should have done that before leaving home!

So we decided to spend the night in Ottawa with Brenda. Otherwise, we likely would have continued on further today. But it is  nice to be here and visit. Brenda had a lovely dinner ready for us.

Tomorrow's weather looks good. Hopefully it will be a trouble-free day!

Our First Day

I actually posted a review of our first day as a comment. Check it out if you can. I will learn as I go, I'm sure! All is well - Gary is tired - he's doing all the driving.
